When I started teaching in 1971, retirement seemed like something too far away to even think about. Now, here it is, 35 years since my first day in the classroom at Rock Hill. I graduated from Winthrop and was offered a teaching job in town and thought that it just didn't "get any better than this." Those were wonderful years in my journey. Some folks are so glad to finally get out of the schoolhouse. Not so for me. I loved the last assignment I had just like the first. What a blessing to have worked for these years and to feel good about my service. I will continue to pray for our schools. I hope you will put our schools on your prayer list, too. Now I am headed in a new direction with our Senior Adult Ministry at FJBC! Don't hesitate to e-mail me with your good ideas for our seniors. God is good! |
