Senior Adult Ministry

The Senior Adults of Fort Johnson Baptist Church are a very active group. Luncheons, small groups, health fairs, day trips and other events are a regular part of the activities for seniors.

Patty Schaffer is the senior adult leader. If you have any questions or ideas, please feel free to contact her by clicking on the contact link at the top of this page.

From Patty's Pen...

Most of the Senior Adults are studying the book of Genesis either in small group (sG) or on Wednesdays. The story of Noah has much to say to us as we begin a new year. Most importantly, begin with God. When the ark door opened the first thing Noah did was to build an altar and worship God. Our study has challenged us to serve God in an obedient and faithful spirit like Noah. We were made by God for a specific purpose. Each of us are part of His plan. Isn't that a powerful thought? Let's put God's purpose for FJBC first place in our agenda this new year. Godspeed in 2008!

JOY Choir meets every Monday morning in the West Building at 10:00 a.m. with Paula Carl. All adults are invited to join in with us. We are visiting nursing homes the last Monday of each month. If you are not part of the JOY Choir but would like a blessing ... join us for our nursing home visits. We leave the church at 9:30 a.m. Usually we go out to eat after our visit. We sing and then talk and visit with the residents. We will be leaving a small treat with the residents to remember our visit.
