Your Wedding at Fort Johnson Baptist Church
The bride and/or the groom must be an active member of Fort Johnson Baptist Church. The bride and the groom must both be Christians, active in a Christian Church.
Both members of the wedding couple must have completed pre-marital counseling
Couple to be married by an FJBC pastor may not be living in co-habitation
A church member's wedding may be held any time at Fort Johnson Baptist Church except:
- after 2 p.m. on Saturdays (due to Saturday evening worship at FJBC)
- before 2 p.m. on Sundays (due to Sunday morning worship at FJBC)
Contracting wedding parties shall:
- Call the church office to have your event placed on the FJBC calendar
- Contact one of the FJBC pastors to coordinate his calendar with the wedding date
- The contracting party recognizes that the damage deposit may be applied to the cost of repairs or non-routine maintenance to the premises. The contracting party also agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Fort Johnson Baptist Church, its agent and employees against any and all claims and liability for damage, whether to a person or property that may arise during the wedding event. The contracting party also agrees to pay in full for any damages or expense incurred by Fort Johnson Baptist Church as a result of their use of premises.
- Abide by the laws of the State of South Carolina, County of Charleston and the rules and regulations of Fort Johnson Baptist Church while guests of the church campus:

- Compensate to Fort Johnson Baptist Church for any damages to or loss of any property during the period of occupancy.
- Be solely responsible for the behavior and safety of the persons in attendance at your function. At the request of Fort Johnson Baptist Church, provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance Coverage, naming Fort Johnson Baptist as "Additional Insured."
- Agree not to serve or consume alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs. Prohibit any smoking of cigarettes, cigars or pipes in the building or on the grounds of Fort Johnson Baptist Church. In addition, assure that all candles are displayed safely and in glass containers, such as hurricane globes, holders, etc.
- Prohibit the use of items that may scar or deface the premises ~~ i.e., tools, tapes, equipment, nails /tacks, decorations.
- Toss only bird seeds on grass areas of property, not sidewalks, steps or parking lot (no rice).
- Florist and decorators are responsible for removing all arrangements at event's end, and should schedule decorating around worship times.
- Bridal party and guests will agree to have vacated the SANCTUARY by 4 p.m. and the FELLOWSHIP HALL by 5:15 p.m. on Saturdays due to Saturday night worship and small group Bible study.

PASTOR

SOUND
$100 check made payable to BILLY SMITH due 1 month prior to event date
Services include:
- Turning on and running sound system for rehearsal
- Shutting off system after rehearsal
- Turning on and running sound system for wedding
- Shutting off system after wedding
- 1 cassette recording of service
- Other: playing music from cd as requested, coordinated with Media Shout
MEDIA SHOUT
$100 check made payable to CINDY CARTER due 1 month prior to event date
Services include:
- Preparing MediaShout presentation per photos given prior to event
- Turning on and running MediaShout for rehearsal
- Shutting off system after rehearsal
- Turning on and running MediaShout for wedding
- Shutting off system after wedding
- 1 DVD copy of MediaShout presentation
- Other: coordinated with SOUND (music)
SET UP (SANCTUARY)
$100 check made payable to THERESA McCARTY due 1 month prior to event date
Services include:
- Unlock Sanctuary at agreed time prior to rehearsal (turn off alarm)
- Turn on lights
- Set temperature in Sanctuary prior to rehearsal
- Unlock Sanctuary at agreed time prior to wedding (turn off alarm)
- Turn on lights
- Set temperature in Sanctuary prior to wedding
- Remove chairs from stage area
- Set up candelabras/pew candle holders (wedding party places candles, drip-less only)
- Return sanctuary to ready state for worship service after wedding service, pictures
- Turn off lights, heat, or A/C
- Lock up Sanctuary and secure alarm after event
- Spot Vacuum carpet if needed

CUSTODIAL (FELLOWSHIP HALL)
$200 check made payable to JASON RIDGE due 1 month prior to event date
Services include:
- Set temperature in Fellowship Hall prior to event (by 10 a.m.)
- Unlock Fellowship Hall at agreed time prior to reception (turn off alarm) (10 a.m.)
- Turn on lights, check paper products in rest rooms, review for cleanliness
- Set up sound system in Fellowship Hall if requested
- Move tables and chairs to side of Fellowship Hall for use and set-up by lessee
- Sweep and mop and remove trash from Fellowship Hall after reception (5:15 p.m.)
- Check kitchen to ensure all appliances are turned off
- Return Fellowship Hall to ready state for church usage after reception
- Turn off lights and/or make ready for sG to use F Hall at 6:45 p.m.
- Lock up Fellowship Hall and secure alarm after event (Not Applicable as sG follows)
- Clean restrooms and restock paper products as needed for sG at 6:45 p.m.
- Make cell number available to wedding party in case of building need or emergency during event

ORGANIST price range $275-$350

Music Policy for Weddings:
Our organist (Rodney Pendell) or a staff pianist (Cathy White) must be contacted soon after the wedding is scheduled so that ample time is allowed for this important aspect of the ceremony. The church office can provide a list of other eligible musicians.
